Doha: Qatari newspapers on Monday highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s state visit to the Italian Republic, whch adds a new momentum to the ever-evolving relationship of Qatar and Italy.

The Qatari dailies believed that HH the Amir’s visit to Italy would contribute to elevating the strategic partnership between the countries across various spheres of economy, politics, military and security.

In its editorial entitled “Qatar and Italy… A Will to Boost Strategic Partnership,” Al-Sharq said the political, economic and investment relations between the State of Qatar and the friendly Italian Republic have seen significant development over the past years, as evidenced by the exchange of high-level visits and the holding of strategic dialogues that have deepened the long-standing bonds of friendship and enhanced trade exchanges between the two countries.

HH the Amir’s visit to Rome affirms the joint keenness on strengthening the strategic relations between the two countries, reflected in th
e signed agreements and memoranda of understanding covering cooperation in many key areas, including economy, politics, diplomacy, defense, investment, science and education, health, youth, sports, art and culture, and tourism, as well as the fields of energy, agriculture and strategic projects related to food security. In addition, the two countries formed the joint Qatari-Italian Businessmen Council to strengthen economic relations and explore areas of bilateral cooperation, Al-Sharq said.

In light of the strong will, mutual trust and common interests, it is expected that HH the Amir’s visit to Italy, and his talks with the Italian leadership, will offer a great opportunity to move the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries to an advanced stage, whether in the economic field, including increasing the volume of trade exchange and joint investments in important vital sectors, or in terms of enhancing coordination on political issues, as well as cooperation in military and security fields, A
l-Sharq concluded.

In turn, Qatari daily Al-Raya said HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s state visit to the Italian Republic adds new momentum to the ever-evolving Qatari-Italian relations, which are based on a rich history of comprehensive partnership at all levels.

In its editorial entitled “Qatar and Italy… Strategic Integration and Comprehensive Cooperation,” Al-Raya said the relations between Doha and Rome have always been a successful model of strategic cooperation, in light of the joint keenness to upgrade the bilateral relations to broader horizons of integration, especially in the economic and commercial fields.

Qatar and Italy are partners, and the mutual visits between the leaderships of the two countries contribute to framing, fortifying and strengthening this relationship, to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples, the paper added.

my and diverse investments, eyes good relations and comprehensive cooperation with Italy, a member of the Group of Eight and the European Union. The two countries complement each other on all levels, Al-Raya indicated.

HH the Amir’s visit focuses on strengthening Qatar’s global alliances. Italy is an important trading partner for Qatar. The volume of trade exchange between the two countries has seen remarkable growth in recent years, reaching QR 20 billion in 2023. Qatar and Italy are also linked by a set of agreements and memoranda of understanding that cover cooperation in economy, politics, diplomacy, defense, investment, science and education, health, youth, sports, art and culture, and tourism, as well as the fields of agriculture and strategic projects related to food security, and most importantly the energy sector which is one of the main pillars of cooperation between the two countries, Al-Raya concluded.
