Doha: Qatari newspapers on Friday focused on the State of Qatar’s participation in the works of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, and the active presence of the Qatari diplomacy in the meetings held with different groups, main and side events, and bilateral meetings.
The Qatari dailies highlighted Qatar’s keenness on addressing pressing global issues, especially in the field of development, human rights, and security and stability of societies; noting that the participation of Qatari officials in these meetings was an opportunity to highlight Qatars pioneering role at the global level through its creative initiatives that contributed to improving the lives of many people around the world.
In Arab affairs, the newspapers denounced the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon and warned against the Israeli plans to drag the region into a full-fledged war, while attempting to fail all mediation efforts to avoid escalation.
In its editorial titled “Qatar.. Influential Actor in International
Decision-Making,” Al Raya said that Qatars active participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, and its significant presence in meetings, general discussions, and bilateral meetings with officials and leaders of countries, organizations, and UN committees, confirms the prestigious diplomatic status that the State of Qatar enjoys internationally.
The influential and significant diplomatic power of the State of Qatar has enabled it to engage positively with pressing international issues. Therefore, Qatar is keen to exploit its presence in the General Assembly meetings to shed light on the just Palestinian cause, in light of the brutal and unprecedented Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories and in the afflicted Gaza Strip, Al-Raya said.

ts initiatives through qualitative and influential projects, thus contributing to achieving sustainable development, the paper stressed.
The Qatari diplomacy, as attested by the United Nations, is very active and strong, and has an influential presence in the world, especially with the initiatives, conferences and forums that Qatar organizes throughout the year, which address crucial issues related to world peace and security, economic development, and the localization of security, peace and development globally, Al-Raya concluded.
In the same context, Al-Sharq noted the prominent presence of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani in the works of the United Nations General Assembly, through his participation in many events held on the sidelines of the session, as well as bilateral meetings with his counterparts from brotherly and friendly countries.
