Doha: Qatari newspapers covered an array of topics in their editorials on Wednesday.
The Qatari dailies highlighted Qatar’s continuous and intensive efforts to stop the genocide waged by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian cities, in a flagrant violation of all international covenants and laws, human values and religious laws.
The newspapers also noted Qatar’s continued support for Yemen to fulfill the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability and development.
Locally, the newspapers emphasized Qatar’s great attention to addressing the threats facing children in the digital world, and its efforts to protect the children from such threats by enforcing laws and legislation, and implementing initiatives and projects that provide awareness and guidance content dedicated to preventing digital risks for children, teachers and families.
In its editorial entitled “Continued Qatari Effort to Stop the War of Extermination,” Al-Sharq said the State of Qatar
continues its intensive efforts to stop the genocide waged by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian governates, in a flagrant violation of all international charters, laws, human values, and religious laws in an unprecedented manner in modern history. These efforts are evident through the mediation it leads with its regional and international partners, its continuous communications and consultations with all parties, in addition to its prominent presence in all forums in order to push the political path to end the war.
Al-Sharq said that the Israeli aggression on Gaza was discussed in the joint meetings chaired by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, who is the current President of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council, in Riyadh with Russia, India and Brazil. Qatar’s position was also prominent during HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi’s participation
in the in the 162nd Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo; as well as the meetings HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater held with HE Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) Cindy McCain, and HE President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Kate Forbes.
The need for concerted regional and international efforts is more urgent than ever to end the aggression on Gaza immediately, provide protection to the brotherly Palestinian people, and confront attempts to forcibly displace them, Al-Sharq stressed.
Under the headline “Khan Yunis Massacre.. a Stain on Humanity”, Al-Raya said the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, including massacres and deliberate targeting of defenseless civilians in displacement tents, schools and mosques, clearly confirms that it is waging a war of extermination and ethnic cleansing
in the Strip, with the aim of inflicting the greatest harm on the Palestinian people.
In this context, Al-Raya noted the State of Qatar’s condemnation, in the strongest terms, of the brutal massacre committed by the Israeli occupation in Mawasi Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, which left dozens of martyrs and wounded. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the continuation of the occupation’s heinous crimes against defenseless civilians, its blatant defiance of international laws and norms, and its seeking of military escalation instead of a political path are an inevitable result of the silence of the international community and the absence of accountability and punishment.
The international community’s double standards in response to the systematic war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the brotherly Palestinian people, especially children and women, exposes its indifference to the tragic humanitarian conditions in the Strip. The massacre of Mawasi Khan Yunis, which was committed using
internationally prohibited weapons, will not be the last as long as the criminal Israeli occupation remains far from accountability and punishment, Al-Raya concluded.
