Qatari newspapers highlighted in their editorials Tuesday HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to the Kingdom of Sweden. They emphasized that this visit represents an important step in the ongoing relationship between the two countries and in enhancing its broad prospects, and serves as a significant opportunity to deepen and strengthen these relations.

The newspapers pointed out that His Highness’s visit underscores Qatar and Sweden’s efforts to contribute to creating a safer and more peaceful world and to work together in supporting sustainable development. Qatar is considered an important partner for the European Union, and the partnership between the EU and the GCC countries in general offers an excellent pathway to expanding cooperation on issues such as trade, sustainability, and climate change.

The newspapers also shed light on the new 2024-2030 strategy launched by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, which marks a new phase in the educational landscape at all levels in the
country. This strategy is expected to enhance Qatar’s educational standing both regionally and internationally, keeping pace with the rapid changes in the current and future era.

Regarding HH the Amir’s visit yesterday to the Kingdom of Sweden, Al-Sharq daily said that the visit, which comes upon the invitation of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, is a culmination of 50 years of historical relations between the two countries, which began in 1974. This visit also reflects the depth of the ties and common achievements that have been realized over the decades.

The paper noted that the most important connection between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Sweden is their strong commitment to supporting international peace, law, and security, as well as their shared responsibility in maintaining peace and stability, contributing to building a safe, prosperous, and sustainable world. Additionally, Stockholm appreciates and supports Qatar’s efforts in promoting peace in the region and its mediations, not on
ly regarding the war on Gaza but in various parts of the world.

In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that the outcomes of HH the Amir’s talks and meetings in Stockholm will be a significant milestone in opening new horizons for the partnership between the two friendly countries in many fields, especially as the relations continue to evolve, noting that there are about 52 major Swedish companies operating in the State of Qatar, and the volume of trade exchange between the two countries increased by 79% in 2023, reaching QR 1.55 billion.

In its editorial, Al-Watan newspaper affirmed that HH’s visit to the Kingdom of Sweden will contribute to developing relations between the two countries and open new avenues for cooperation across many sectors, serving the interests and aspirations of the two friendly nations and their peoples.

The newspaper underlined that the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Sweden enjoy a strong friendship that has seen continuous growth in various fields since the establishment of diplomatic re
lations between the two countries. The relationship between Doha and Stockholm has been strengthened in multiple areas due to mutual visits and several agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries, which include, among other things, activities related to the United Nations and humanitarian aspects.

The editorial emphasized that HH the Amir’s visit to Sweden is of great importance as it highlights the depth of the bilateral relations and strengthens their solid partnership. The visit comes at a very crucial time, given the rapid global changes and the economic crises the world is currently facing.

Al-Watan concluded by saying that HH’s visit to the Kingdom of Sweden is a valuable opportunity to activate the frameworks of joint cooperation and explore new horizons with the Nordic countries, based on the great trust that the State of Qatar enjoys and its prominent role at both the regional and international level
