Under the headline “Shura Council: Yes to Constitutional Amendments,” Al-Raya said the Shura Council unanimously approved the draft constitutional amendments after reviewing the report of the special committee studying the amendment of some articles of the constitution. The Council was inspired during its constructive discussions by the vision, wisdom and patriotism of HH the Amir, expressed in His Highness’s historic speech at the opening of the fourth session of the first legislative term of the Shura Council.
The Council’s unanimous approval of the draft constitutional amendments was also based on its responsibility and national duty, and its interaction with the aspirations the Qatari people. There is no doubt that the Shura Council’s unanimous approval of these amendments is an important and historic step in consolidating national unity and enshrining the rule of law, Al-Raya added.

ple to continue its great, appreciated and vital national role in establishing justice, the principle of the rule of law, and contributing to the path of stability, development and comprehensive renaissance, Al-Raya stressed.
For its part, Al-Arab said the constitutional amendments approved by the Shura Council in its session yesterday represent a new chapter in which the Council completes its role in supporting national development efforts in various fields and sectors.
In its editorial entitled “Constitutional Amendments… Strengthening National Unity,” Al-Arab said the amendments contribute to strengthening national unity, upholding the principle of justice and the rule of law, and achieving the supreme interest of the country, in accordance with the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
