In its editorial titled “Qatar… Movement to Stop the War,” Al-Raya said the State of Qatar gives utmost priority to the just Palestinian cause as its central cause, and has spared no effort in supporting the Palestinian brothers and defending them and supporting their steadfastness in all international forums.

In these critical days in the history of the Palestinian people, Doha is witnessing an intensive diplomatic movement to stop the aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, and to stop the bloodshed of the innocents, Al-Raya noted.

The State of Qatar has been making continuous efforts to end the war since Oct., prevent the expansion of the war, and contain the conflict. In November, the Qatari efforts succeeded in releasing some prisoners and hostages and reaching a temporary ceasefire. Since then, Doha has not lost hope and has remained in continuous contact with the mediation parties, Al-Raya added.

For its part, Al-Watan highlighted Qatars strong condemnation of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, th
e Palestinian territories, and Lebanon.

In its editorial titled “Firm Positions,” Al-Watan said that Qatar has repeatedly warned against the expansion of the circle of violence in the region and the risk of a full-fledged regional war. It has made great diplomatic efforts to prevent the deterioration of the situation through joint mediation and intensive action in every direction, and it is still continuing its efforts due to its full belief in international law as the reference capable of resolving every dispute.

While efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire are of exceptional importance at this time, these efforts must be crowned with a two-state solution, which alone can put a final end to this bitter conflict. The two-state solution, which Qatar has always called for, constitutes the key to true peace, Al-Watan stressed.

English newspaper, The Peninsula, criticized the international community indifference, saying that the Palestinian people have been subjected to genocide for more than a year, while
the world remains either in deafening silence or blatant hypocrisy and lies.

Under the headline “Where Is Our Humanity?” The Peninsula said the world is stripped of its humanity, and the daily massacres in Gaza become routine scenes, and international organizations lose their sense of responsibility and the true nature and role of the so-called international humanitarian law is revealed, then talking about peace and ceasefires becomes futile and no longer feasible.

The Israeli occupation forces are committing everyday three to four massacres killing average of 60 to 70 Palestinians and injuring tens of civilians with ultimate Israeli aim of making Gaza Strip uninhabitable by uprooting the vast majority of the population in violation of international law. People In Gaza are deprived from basic needs of food, water, medicine and shelter since the Israeli Occupation Forces started its genocidal war on Gaza and continuing because of the international community indifference, the paper said.
