In its editorial titled “Generosity Yields Generations,” Al-Sharq highlighted the celebration of the World Teachers’ Day, organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under the theme “Generosity Yields Generations”.
The newspaper said marking the occasion aimed at honoring and appreciating the role of teachers in the society. HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani attended the ceremony, where (27) teachers, whose careers spanned more than twenty years, were honored.
The newspaper pointed out that this recognition was not just an ordinary celebration, but a tribute to the central role of the teacher in achieving the renaissance of nations. Under wise leadership, the teacher is not seen as a secondary element in the educational process but as a key figure in shaping the future. The World Teachers’ Day is a day to highlight the importance of teachers’ pivotal role, and the necessity of supporting and empowering them, the paper concluded.
In another matter, English newspaper, The Peninsula, highlighted the role that the State of Qatar plays in de-escalation and achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon since the beginning of the Israeli war. The newspaper pointed out that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has has called on the international community time and again to take action to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression in Lebanon and Gaza.

Besides, the Prime Minister and US Secretary of State H E Antony Blinken discussed situation in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon and mediation.
In December 2023, Qatar played a crucial role in brokering a seven-day truce between the conflicting parties, resulting in the release of dozens of hostages and Palestinian prisoners, the Peninsula noted.
The newspaper concluded by saying that there is only solution for peace in the region that is the end of Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.It noted that the international community must take steps to ensure that an independent Palestinians state would be a reality soon and that the two-state solution is not merely an empty rhetoric.
