Qatari daily Al-Raya said that Israel’s war crimes, ethnic cleansing, systematic destruction and forced displacement have set Gaza back hundreds of years, leaving the Strip groaning under the weight of a catastrophic humanitarian crisis with a failing health sector and destroyed infrastructure.
This aggression, which has killed tens of thousands of children, will have repercussions for many years in the Strip. With the collapse of the health system in Gaza, cases of the dangerous polio disease have been recorded. While this disease has disappeared from the world, it has reappeared in Gaza due to the criminal occupation, the paper said, warning of the danger of this disease which is highly contagious and can cause permanent deformities and paralysis, and may become fatal.
The implementation of a major campaign to vaccinate about 640,000 children in Gaza faces many obstacles and difficulties, most notably the deadly Israeli raids that deliberately kill children and medical workers, as well as the difficulty
of bringing in vaccine doses from abroad, the paper noted.
In the same context, Al-Watan called on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation to stop the policy of forced displacement, which has become an adopted methodology by the occupation, making every spot in the Gaza Strip unsafe and uninhabitable.
The Israeli occupation continues to oppress the Palestinians and reduce the humanitarian space in the Gaza Strip. The occupation has caused new suffering for the residents of Gaza city with the new displacement of about 100,000 citizens. The city of Deir al-Balah, which the Israeli occupation classified from the first moments of its aggression on the Gaza Strip as a safe humanitarian area houses today more than half of the Strips residents, the paper noted.
