Under the title “Prime Minister’s Tour,” Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that the tour of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, which included Australia and New Zealand, comes within the framework of His Excellency’s efforts to strengthen mutual interests, enhance international cooperation and contribute to the promotion of peace and security on both regional and global levels. This is in line with Qatar’s openness to various continents, where the policy of openness, characterized by interaction, dialogue, and cooperation with the countries of the world, represents one of the main pillars of the State’s foreign policy principles.
The agenda of discussions held with senior officials in both countries reflects the importance of the shared desire to enhance cooperation and partnership and to elevate relations to broader horizons. The talks with Australian officials focused on the multiple partnerships between the two countries in the fiel
ds of energy, economy and common stances on issues of international peace and security, particularly Gaza. The talks with officials in New Zealand addressed economic cooperation, trade exchange and investment opportunities in sectors such as aviation, technology, energy, investment, as well as cooperation in clean energy and technological research. They also touched on continuing to work together to strengthen the rules-based international system and support international peace and security, the newspaper noted.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the results of this important tour by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs are expected to elevate relations with Australia and New Zealand to new and advanced levels of cooperation and coordination, benefiting the mutual interests of the Qatari, Australian, and New Zealand peoples.

fforts to strengthen partnerships with various countries around the world and build strong alliances with friendly governments, the comprehensive discussions held by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, in both Australia and New Zealand focused on enhancing economic and trade relations and reaffirming Qatar’s foreign policy principles, which support just international causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
Al-Raya referred to His Excellency’s meetings with the Prime Minister of New Zealand, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister for Trade and Export Growth and Associate Minister of Foreign Affairs in New Zealand. As His Excellency affirmed, these meetings mark a new and strong beginning for Qatari-New Zealand relations, which await promising horizons of cooperation and partnership. Qatar is considered a key player in the global energy market and a reliable supplier of clean energy.
Qatar has a
strong desire to enhance constructive and fruitful cooperation with the Australian continent. His Excellency’s discussions in Canberra and Wellington addressed investment opportunities, trade exchange, and economic cooperation, in addition to political issues. Qatar also believes in the significant diplomatic influence of both Australia and New Zealand in international politics and their role in supporting global stability, the newspaper added.
