In its editorial, Al-Raya newspaper condemned the ongoing Israeli occupation’s bloody massacres against the displaced Palestinian people throughout Gaza Strip.

It noted that on the 351st day of the brutal Israeli aggression and ongoing genocide against Gaza, the occupation forces carried out 12 massacres targeting families in the Strip, including an attack on a school housing displaced persons, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of many innocent civilians, the majority of whom were children and women.

Al-Raya explained that these brutal massacres represent a new chapter in Israel’s ongoing series of crimes against unarmed civilians, adding that this violence reflects repeated attempts to impose a fait accompli and strip Palestinians of their rights guaranteed by international law, undermine international efforts for a two-state solution and pave the way for increased violence in the region, threatening international peace and security.

The newspaper concluded by explaining that these crimes by Israel f
alls within the framework of a systematic campaign of genocide targeting the Palestinian people as part of its plans to force them into displacement.

In turn, Al-Watan noted that the recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon have confirmed fears of the expansion of war in the region, noting that this concern was reflected in the statements of member state representatives during an emergency session held by the UN Security Council in New York last Friday to discuss the recent developments in Lebanon, which is facing unprecedented aggression due to the international community’s failure to rein in Israel and stop its crimes, especially in Gaza, where an unparalleled genocide is occurring.

The newspaper added that Israel has demonstrated, through its assaults, that it is indifferent to the lives of civilians and is determined to achieve its nefarious goals by any means necessary.

In its conclusion, Al-Watan highlighted the White House’s announcement that the United States still believes that a diplomatic solution in t
he Middle East is the best path forward. While the entire world recognizes the need for diplomacy, Israel continues to obstruct such efforts without facing any pressure to engage in diplomatic initiatives, the newspaper said, stressing that the United States has a responsibility to exert pressure that could alone halt this insane escalation.
