Doha: Al Ahli Club announced today the signing of midfielder Ahmed Riyad from Al Duhail SC for three seasons. The club revealed this development through a statement on its official social media accounts, confirming that the 22-year-old player will be a part of the team until the summer of 2028.
According to Qatar News Agency, the statement highlighted that Riyad’s acquisition aligns with the coach’s technical vision and the club’s requirement for a player with specific technical capabilities to bolster Al Ahli’s defense and midfield. It was also mentioned that Riyad is scheduled to join the team’s training sessions tomorrow as they prepare for the 2025-2026 sports season.
Riyad is recognized as one of the most prominent players on the Qatar Olympic team and has experience playing for the national youth team. He also spent a season on loan with Al Khor Club. Al Ahli concluded the 2024-25 season occupying fourth place in the league standings.
The club is set to commence its new season against Al Shamal on August 14 in the first round of the Qatar Football League. Moreover, Al Ahli will make its debut in the AFC Champions League 2, marking a significant milestone in its history.
