Doha:Qatar Tourism hosted the second session of the "Taste of Qatar: Spotlight on Qatari Entrepreneurs" program, bringing together Qatari entrepreneurs and chefs to exchange insights, share experiences, and explore opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality sector.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event emphasized the significant contributions of local talent and homegrown brands to Qatar's evolving culinary landscape. It highlighted the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in enhancing sector standards and enriching the visitor experience.
Omar Abdulrahman Al Jaber, Director of Operations Affairs at Qatar Tourism, participated in a discussion on the vision for the restaurant sector and the impact of Qatari entrepreneurs on the country's culinary offerings. He noted the sector's importance as both an expression of Qatar's identity and a vital economic sector with growth potential. Initiatives and programs are being developed to raise quality standards and support business owners in attracting visitors.
Jassim Al Mahmoud, Director of Public Relations and Communications at Visit Qatar, stated that the session aimed to create a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas, celebrating creativity and innovation in the culinary arts. The Taste of Qatar initiative, launched last year, is part of efforts to elevate the restaurant and hospitality sector and enhance Qatar's global culinary reputation.
The event included two panel discussions that explored the journeys of Qatari entrepreneurs, their success stories, challenges faced, and the transformation of innovative ideas into thriving businesses. The initiative underscores Qatar Tourism's dedication to showcasing local talent, culture, and hospitality as integral aspects of the visitor experience.
