Qatar Strongly Condemns Israeli Occupation’s Decision to Expand Settlement in West Bank

Doha: The State of Qatar has strongly condemned Israeli occupation’s decision to expand settlements in the West Bank, considering it a new chapter in the ongoing violations of international legitimacy resolutions, particularly United Nations Security Council Resolution 2,334.

In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the occupation policy, based on expanding settlements and forcibly displacing the Palestinian people, along with its ongoing brutal war on the Gaza Strip, constitutes an obstacle to efforts aimed at preventing the expansion of the cycle of violence in the region and achieving comprehensive and just peace, stressing in the need for the international community to stand together to compel the Israeli occupation to halt its unilateral actions and comply with international legitimacy resolutions, especially during this critical period.

The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar’s steadfast and unwavering stance in supporting the Palestinian cause and the resilience of
the fraternal Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
