Doha:The Qatar Stars League (QSL) recently held its annual Club Licensing Workshop, attended by representatives from clubs in the Doha Bank Stars League and Jetour League, with additional participation from clubs in the QSL3 league as observers.
According to Qatar News Agency, the workshop underscored the partnership between QSL and the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA). It focused on SIGA's initiatives for November, which concentrate on critical areas such as good governance, financial integrity, youth development and protection, as well as media responsibility and digital integrity in sports.
The event addressed recent updates from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on the Club Licensing system, introducing new standards and amendments to existing requirements. It provided an overview of the AFC's Club Licensing Administration System (CLAS) and reviewed essential financial requirements and associated procedures to enhance clubs' readiness and compliance with stipulated criteria.
Additionally, the workshop reviewed updates on the Club Participation Agreement (CPA) requirements and procedures for the 2026-2027 season. The aim was to clarify obligations and regulatory mechanisms while strengthening coordination between the QSL and clubs to ensure alignment with established frameworks.
The session offered club representatives the opportunity to raise inquiries and discuss both technical and administrative aspects of the licensing process. This facilitated better clarity of procedures, standardized operational mechanisms, and ensured the highest levels of efficiency and compliance.
The workshop is part of QSL's ongoing efforts to support clubs in developing their administrative and organizational capabilities, embedding principles of governance, sustainability, and professionalism. These initiatives aim to enhance the operational ecosystem's efficiency, contribute to competition development, and elevate technical and organizational standards.
