Doha: The final day of the FISU World University Championship Weightlifting highlighted the advanced level of weightlifting in higher education institutions, as competitors displayed strength, excitement, and determination. Male and female lifters delivered performances that showcased their preparation and ambition, in a competitive atmosphere embodying the values of university sport - excellence, discipline, and a spirit of challenge.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event concluded with a closing ceremony that featured a parade of flags from the participating countries and elements of Qatari culture, reflecting Doha's warm hospitality. A short video recapped the five days of competition, highlighting the athletes' endeavors.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the Secretary-General of the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation, Rashid Saeed Adiba, FISU Technical Committee Chair Dr. Milan Mihajlovic, and FISU International Supervisory Committee member Sarita Morales Brenes, among others.

Rashid Saeed Adiba expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the championship's success, emphasizing the event's role in promoting fair play and cultural exchange. He commended the athletes who traveled from around the world to participate in Doha.

Sarita Morales Brenes also extended her appreciation to the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation and all involved parties for their efforts in ensuring the event's success.

The ceremony concluded with the handover of the FISU flag to Sarita Morales Brenes, marking Albania as the host for the 11th edition of the championships in 2028. The event saw participation from about 116 athletes representing 21 countries, competing across various weight classes.
