Doha:The Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, recently wrapped up the second batch of the Young Inventors Program 2026.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program, directed by Eng. Hessa Al Najjar, is designed to encourage young individuals to think creatively and transform their innovative ideas into actionable projects. This is achieved through a comprehensive training journey that spans from conceptualizing ideas to engineering design and the final implementation and testing of prototypes.
The latest batch involved 30 participants who were divided into six teams for nine days of intensive training. During this period, they developed a variety of projects focusing on fields such as health, environment, industry, safety, and marine technology. Al Najjar emphasized that the program provides a complete innovation experience, guiding participants from problem identification to solution development, design, and implementation.
Their training encompassed creative thinking, feasibility analysis, and engineering design in two and three dimensions, culminating in the presentation of their projects to a judging panel. Eng. Mohammed Al Qassabi, a panel member, highlighted that the projects were developed by Qatari youth and addressed diverse fields such as sports and health. The judging criteria were not only centered on technological aspects but also on how well each project catered to people's needs.
Projects were assessed based on technology, design, need, explanation, and presentation, alongside the comprehensive elements necessary for a successful project. The QSC aspires that these young participants will emerge as a new generation of inventors who can leverage the Club's expertise and resources to develop innovative ideas and transform them into prototypes.
The inaugural batch of the program included 35 participants who developed seven projects that reached the prototype stage, addressing areas like security and safety, health, environmental concerns, water, and industrial safety.
