Dhaka:Qatar SC has parted ways with Spanish coach Marquez Lopez after a disappointing beginning to the Qatar Stars League season.

According to Qatar News Agency, the club decided to terminate Lopez's contract by mutual agreement. Rashid Al Kubaisi, the U-23 coach, has been appointed to take charge of the first team.

Qatar SC has struggled in the league, securing only two points from five matches, with two draws and three defeats, placing them second-bottom in the standings. Last season, Lopez led Qatar SC to a sixth-place finish and also guided Qatar's national team to the 2023 AFC Asian Cup title.
