QATAR PM TO ATTEND WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION TODAY

DOHA, Qatar, Oct 1 – Qatar Supreme Education Council (SEC) will celebrate today (Wednesday), the World Teachers’ Day, under the theme, “Messenger of Science: Thank You.”

The celebration will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, at Katara’s building No. 12.

103 teachers will be honoured and given certificates of appreciation and prizes, after they fulfilled the conditions and criteria of awards as outlined by the SEC.

The World Teachers’ Day falls on Oct 5 every year, and comes as a reminder of the importance of adopting UNESCO’s 1966 recommendation on improving conditions of teachers all over the world, in recognition of their role in providing high-quality education and preparing good citizens.
