Qatar Participates in 9th Meeting of GCC Ministers of Development and Social Affairs

The State of Qatar participated in the 9th meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies Ministers of Development and Social Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was held Wednesday in the Omani capital, Muscat.

HE Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad chaired the State of Qatar’s delegation to the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Her Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar attaches an exceptional priority to the protection of moral, religious and family values, noting that preparations are underway to reach an Arab declaration led by the State of Qatar, in its capacity as the current president of the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs.

The Arab declaration will be based mainly on GCC countries’ findings on the importance of protecting the family and promote its values, Her Excellency said.

Her Excellency invited Their Excellencies the Ministers of Development and Social Affairs to attend the 10th meeting of the committee in Doha in 2024, pledging that the State of Qatar would show a qualitative and desired chairmanship of the committee. (QNA)
