Doha: Mohamed bin Faleh Al Hajri, in charge of managing Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), stated that Qatar National Day embodies the values of loyalty, unity, and pride, renewing the pledge to preserve the nation’s heritage and reaffirm devotion to its leadership. The day strengthens the collective resolve to continue the journey of building and development, as Qatar moves forward with confidence to raise its flag in international forums and achieve further progress and distinction.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Hajri emphasized that the occasion holds symbolic significance for both citizens and residents, commemorating a pivotal moment in the nation’s history. It renews feelings of loyalty, belonging, and pride in national identity, while embodying the unity and solidarity of the Qatari people. He noted that National Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices of the founding generation, led by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, inspiring future generations to pursue progress and prosperity while preserving the nation’s values and identity.
Al Hajri reviewed the QCAA’s key achievements in 2025, highlighting Qatar’s re-election to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), reflecting renewed international confidence in Qatar and its civil aviation system. He mentioned the approval of the second phase of the Doha Flight Information Region (FIR/UIR) and the Search and Rescue Region (SRR) by the ICAO Council, following the successful completion of the first phase.
He also pointed out that Doha hosted the ICAO Facilitation Conference (FALC 2025), with participation from over 120 ministers and heads of civil aviation authorities, during which the Doha Declaration on International Air Transport Facilitation was adopted. In 2025, the QCAA launched new digital services and signed agreements to expand the national carrier’s network, enhancing air connectivity between Qatar and the world. The adoption of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in air traffic management contributed to higher efficiency and safety standards.
Concluding his remarks to QNA, Al Hajri affirmed that the Authority will continue to enhance the civil aviation sector’s performance and strengthen Qatar’s position as a regional and international aviation hub. This includes continuous modernization of services, advanced training of national cadres, and the signing of new air services agreements with ICAO member states, supporting the State’s strategic plans and the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
