Doha: HE Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the State of Qatar Juha Mustonen emphasized that Qatar National Day (QND) is a significant occasion reflecting the unity, pride, and belonging shared by the Qatari people. It serves as a timeless reminder to younger generations of the values and principles that have shaped the country, honoring the efforts of those who came before them.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency highlighted that QND strengthens national identity and solidarity among citizens and residents. It expresses gratitude for the collective efforts shaping the nation, reinforcing a commitment to unity, progress, and pride in Qatar’s future journey.

HE Ambassador Mustonen noted Qatar’s reputation as a respected mediator on the international stage, attributed to its active foreign policy. Qatar prioritizes dialogue and diplomacy, allowing it to mediate without imposing political pressure. Doha has hosted key peace talks globally and continues supporting Palestinian-Israeli peace dialogue, reflecting its commitment to global stability.

He further mentioned that Qatar’s mediation model engages various sectors, addressing conflict root causes and promoting sustainable peace. Strategic partnerships with nations like Finland have enhanced Qatar’s mediation efforts worldwide, resulting from long-term diplomatic investments and a vision for peaceful conflict resolution.

The Ambassador praised Qatar’s achievements guided by Qatar National Vision 2030, emphasizing progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, energy, sustainability, and diplomacy. He views these accomplishments as a foundation for strengthening Finland-Qatar bilateral cooperation.

HE Juha Mustonen pointed out the steady growth in Finland-Qatar relations, rooted in collaboration across economic development, trade, culture, education, and innovation. High-level visits and diplomatic exchanges have elevated these ties, notably the meeting between Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President Alexander Stubb of Finland in Helsinki.

He expressed optimism for future cooperation in sustainability, digitalization, clean energy, and healthcare. The mutual aspiration to deepen ties ensures a dynamic partnership built on shared values and innovation.
