Qatar Museums Partners with Dukhan Bank to Develop Two New Cultural Institutions

Qatar: Qatar Museums (QM) today announced a landmark partnership with the Qatar-based Dukhan Bank to support the development of two vital future cultural institutions: Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, and the Dukhan Bank Qatar Numismatic Center.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dukhan Bank’s support for Qatar Museums will help Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar realize its mission as a pioneering institution dedicated to holistic childhood development, nurturing curiosity, creativity, and compassion through open-ended play, exploration, and experimentation. Additionally, an independent future institution that will house QM’s world-renowned collection of historic Islamic currency, will be named the Dukhan Bank Qatar Numismatic Center in honor of the firm’s generosity.

The official signing ceremony took place at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) in the presence of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, and HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani, Executive Board Member and Managing Director of Dukhan Bank. HE Sheikha Al Mayassa expressed pride in welcoming Dukhan Bank as a major partner, highlighting the collaboration’s role in achieving the goals outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030. She noted that these institutions will serve a wide audience, including children, families, researchers, and scholars, contributing to Qatar’s human, social, and economic development.

HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Jassim Al-Thani emphasized Dukhan Bank’s honor in formalizing the partnership, underscoring the bank’s commitment to preserving and sharing Qatar’s cultural narrative. He highlighted the partnership’s role in fostering public engagement and ensuring the preservation of heritage stories for future generations.

Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, President of the Dadu Advisory Committee, acknowledged the crucial role of the private sector in Qatar’s future success and expressed gratitude to Dukhan Bank for supporting Dadu as a world-class institution. Ahmed I. Hashem, Acting Group CEO of Dukhan Bank, described the collaboration as the beginning of a meaningful new chapter, contributing to initiatives that broaden access to knowledge and deepen appreciation for shared heritage.

Sheikha Amna bint Abdulaziz Al Thani, Acting Deputy CEO of Museums, Collections and Heritage Protection of Qatar Museums, highlighted the Dukhan Bank Qatar Numismatic Center’s role as a vital resource for scholars and a place for the public to discover unique aspects of Islamic heritage. Talal Ahmed Al Khaja, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of Dukhan Bank, emphasized the partnership’s contribution to cultural engagement and community connection, reflecting the bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

This year, Qatar Museums celebrates Evolution Nation, an 18-month campaign honoring Qatar’s cultural journey over the past 50 years, curated by Qatar Creates. The campaign positions Qatar as a global hub for art, culture, and creativity, highlighting both the nation’s cultural milestones and its future aspirations.
