Qatar Museums Launches Comprehensive October Program Featuring Exhibitions and Workshops

Al Wakrah:Qatar: Qatar Museums (QM) has unveiled its October public program, which includes a range of exhibitions, talks, workshops, and activities for children, teenagers, adults, and families across its venues.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program will feature the opening of a photography exhibition titled "As the Image Unfolds - The Language of Athar" at Bayt Al Wakrah. Liwan Design Studios and Labs will dedicate a week to exploring wool as a design material. A series of QC Talks will also be held, including collaborations between Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar, as well as between Lusail Museum and Georgetown University in Qatar.

The National Museum of Qatar will offer a family-oriented program with discussion sessions, guided tours, and interactive experiences that explore Qatar's heritage and maritime history. Activities include "Navigating the Seas of Qatar," for families with children aged eight and above, and "Old School Dress-Up," for children aged three and above. A discussion session on Qatari hospitality and Arabic coffee will be held on International Coffee Day.

Teenagers can participate in "Lost at Sea: An Immersive Maritime Navigation," a simulation exploring traditional and modern navigation techniques. The Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar will host the "As the Image Unfolds - The Language of Athar" exhibition, showcasing works from a five-month artist residency program.

Mathaf's program includes drawing, portraiture, calligraphy, and storytelling sessions, alongside "Art Lessons with Ismail Azzam" and "Essa Fakhroo Calligraphy" workshops. The Museum of Islamic Art will offer programs on Arabic calligraphy, geometry, and design, inspired by the "Uzbekistan: Heritage in Motion" exhibition.

Liwan Design Studios and Labs will provide workshops in ceramics and textiles, while M7 will present a jewelry-making workshop for young creatives. Dadu, Children's Museum of Qatar, invites families to participate in interactive activities designed to foster creativity and family engagement.
