Doha:Qatar's Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has been awarded the leadership in digital innovation and heritage award for the second year in a row during the third Google Cloud Doha 2026 conference, which was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

According to Qatar News Agency, this global recognition honors the Ministry's efforts in utilizing artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies to advance government services and preserve Islamic knowledge heritage.

Director of Human Resources Management at Awqaf, Mohammed Hassan Al Malki, stated that the achievement signifies the Ministry's successful application of advanced technologies to benefit the community. He also emphasized Awqaf's commitment to continuing the development of innovative digital solutions, which contribute to enhancing Qatar's position in digital transformation and corporate innovation.

The award was based on a series of smart projects and solutions recently launched by the Ministry. These include the "Qatar Moshaf" app, a comprehensive digital platform for the Quranic text and its sciences, and the "Minbar" project, a digital platform that translates Friday sermons into multiple languages to reach diverse community segments.

Other initiatives involve the "Smart Preacher Assistant," an AI-enhanced tool that uses Islam Web's knowledge database to create modern religious outreach content, as well as integrated digital portals for managing mosque affairs, facilitating Hajj and Umrah procedures, and offering interactive conversational solutions.

This achievement is largely attributed to a strategic collaboration between Awqaf, MCIT, and Google Cloud, which has been pivotal in transforming Awqaf's infrastructure into a modern cloud environment and enhancing data security.
