Qatar Loses to Saudi Arabia in U-20 Gulf Cup, Exits First Round

Abha: The Qatari national team lost to Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the match held Wednesday at Prince Sultan Sports City Stadium in Abha, concluding their Group A matches in the Gulf Cup U-20, currently underway and scheduled to continue until Sep. 9.

According to Qatar News Agency, in the same group, the Yemeni national team defeated the Kuwaiti team 2-0 in a match held at Damac Stadium. The Saudi national team advanced to the semi-finals after topping the group with 7 points, followed by Yemen, which finished second with 6 points. Kuwait finished third with 2 points, and Qatar finished fourth with 1 point.

The Qatari national team had tied 2-2 with Kuwait in its opening match of the tournament before losing 1-0 to Yemen in the second round.
