Qatar Engineers to Host 2026 Conference on 3D Printing and Smart Manufacturing

Doha:The Qatar Society of Engineers (QSE) has announced plans to organize the 2026 Conference on 3D Printing and Smart Manufacturing on November 8. This event is part of QSE's ongoing efforts to enhance understanding of modern technologies and support the shift toward more efficient and innovative manufacturing systems in Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the conference will serve as a professional platform for institutions, experts, engineers, and specialists to discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by modern industrial technologies. It will also promote knowledge exchange and showcase practical applications that can foster innovation and the development of a more advanced and sustainable engineering ecosystem in the country.

Key topics of the conference include the use of 3D printing and smart manufacturing technologies in construction and sustainable infrastructure. The first panel will focus on 3D printing's role in transforming construction engineering, featuring research on developing smart concrete mixes using locally recycled materials.

Another session will address the energy and heavy industries, specifically discussing smart manufacturing and digital warehouses in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors. Additionally, a research paper will be presented on the future of spare parts, supply chains, and industrial localization.

The theme of policies, legislation, and human capital will also be explored, with discussions on creating a national framework for smart manufacturing. This includes setting codes, promoting industrial localization, and empowering engineers. A research paper will examine the future prospects of 3D printing and smart manufacturing in Qatar.

Amna Mohammed Al Namaa, Chairperson of the Qatar Society of Engineers, emphasized that the conference is part of QSE's strategy to bolster the presence of modern technologies in the engineering sector.
