Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the 42nd meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies, Senior Municipal Officials of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held virtually on Sunday. HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipality, Ali bin Mohammed Al Ali, led the Qatari delegation in the meeting.
According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency emphasized the need to continue enhancing joint Gulf municipal work and lauded the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat and member countries in advancing the municipal work system. He also acknowledged the contributions of the committees and technical working groups focused on municipal affairs, highlighting their meetings and preparatory workshops aimed at examining topics, initiatives, and guidelines from various technical and executive angles. These discussions led to the development of views and proposals to be presented to Their Excellencies, the Ministers concerned with municipal affairs.
HE the Undersecretary further noted that these collaborative efforts are key to improving municipal services and fostering the exchange of expertise and successful experiences among the GCC countries. The meeting served as a preparatory step for the upcoming meeting of Their Excellencies and Highnesses, the Ministers of Municipal Affairs of the GCC countries, set to take place this week. This meeting will focus on adopting the recommendations and decisions formulated during the preparatory discussions.
