Tunis:The State of Qatar took part in the seventh Government Forum on Combating Trafficking in Persons, hosted in Bahrain.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, Minister of Labour and Chair of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking.
The forum, themed "Enhancing the Sustainability of Efforts through Innovation and Partnerships," gathered ministers and leaders from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as well as representatives from Jordan, Egypt, the United States, the League of Arab States, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Discussions at the event focused on various aspects of human trafficking, the importance of private sector involvement, and innovative practices, including the use of artificial intelligence, to enhance efforts against trafficking. Contributions came from international and regional experts and representatives from national committees of the participating countries.
