New york: The State of Qatar took part in a high-level ministerial dialogue on humanitarian diplomacy and upholding international law, conducted on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Qatar News Agency, the dialogue featured Her Excellency Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad representing Qatar. Her Excellency reiterated Qatar's steadfast commitment to adhering to international humanitarian law and ensuring the provision of humanitarian aid to those impacted, particularly in regions plagued by conflict and natural disasters. She emphasized that overcoming challenges to humanitarian access requires effective multilateral engagement and urgent, coordinated actions by international and regional humanitarian entities.

Her Excellency underscored Qatar's ongoing initiatives to enhance the role of humanitarian diplomacy in promoting a wider and more inclusive humanitarian response. This approach is driven by a foreign policy that prioritizes dialogue and is anchored in the principles of international law and the UN Charter.

She also highlighted Qatar's efforts, in collaboration with the United Nations and humanitarian organizations, to open humanitarian corridors, facilitate the release of detainees, and reunite separated families, including children, across different conflict scenarios.
