Qatar Engages in Doha Process Working Groups on Afghanistan

Doha: The State of Qatar actively participated in the meetings of the Doha Process working groups on Afghanistan, which were led by the United Nations and took place in Doha from June 30 to July 1. These meetings sought to address ongoing issues in Afghanistan and foster dialogue towards achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar was represented by HE Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab. During the meetings, Ambassador Al Hanzab delivered a speech emphasizing Qatar’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Afghan people. He highlighted Qatar’s dedication to establishing security, achieving national reconciliation, and building a stable Afghan state.

His Excellency also reaffirmed Qatar’s readiness to collaborate with regional and international partners to achieve sustainable peace in Afghanistan. The focus remains on supporting Afghan national institutions in a way that aligns with the aspirations of the Afghan people. Qatar’s involvement in these meetings underscores its role as a facilitator in the peace process and its commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Afghanistan.
