Doha: Qatar Charity inaugurated a new service complex in eastern Ghana's North Tongu District, which includes a school, mosque, teachers' accommodation, and a borehole for clean drinking water. This facility is set to benefit over 2,000 people, made possible through the support of donors in Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the inauguration was marked by an official ceremony attended by notable dignitaries, including Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, and Khalid bin Jabr Al Musallam, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Ghana. During the event, the Ghanaian Foreign Minister highlighted the project's contributions to community development, emphasizing its role in nurturing minds and fostering communal growth. The complex features classrooms capable of accommodating 250 students, administrative offices, supporting facilities, eight housing units for teachers, and an automated water and sanitation system.

The Foreign Minister praised the partnership with Qatar Charity, describing it as a vital element in enhancing humanitarian relations between Qatar and Ghana. He noted the organization's significant impact, citing the completion of 1,249 projects that have positively affected hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries in the past year alone. Furthermore, he commended Qatar Charity's ongoing efforts in Ghana, particularly its 2025 initiatives, which are seen as exemplary in providing tangible services in critical areas such as water, education, relief, and health.

Eng. Hassan Ouda, Director of Qatar Charity offices in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire, emphasized the importance of education as a catalyst for development, especially in underserved and rural regions. He reiterated Qatar Charity's dedication to expanding access to quality education and improving learning environments through the construction of schools and necessary infrastructure. Eng. Ouda assured continued commitment, backed by donors, to tackle key humanitarian and development challenges in Ghana, ranging from education and health to water and sanitation, housing, and livelihood support, alongside establishing multi-service centers.
