Qatar Charity Distributes Eid Clothing to Thousands of Orphans Globally

Doha: Qatar Charity (QC), with the support of generous donors, has continued its "Greatest Days" campaign by distributing Eid clothing to thousands of sponsored orphans in 22 countries, including Qatar, during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. This initiative aims to bring joy to orphans and join them in celebrating the upcoming Eid Al-Adha.

According to Qatar News Agency, the project is part of QC's dedication to supporting orphans and their families through the "Rofaqa" initiative and seasonal campaigns. The project provides essential needs for children during Eid, alleviating financial burdens on families and promoting solidarity and compassion values. In Djibouti, 600 children received Eid clothing, expressing happiness with their new outfits. In Sri Lanka, 250 orphans in Ampara received shopping vouchers to select their Eid attire, enhancing their inclusion and self-confidence.

In Turkiye, 686 Eid clothing cards were distributed to Syrian refugee orphans and host community members. Iman Nasan, a Social Care Coordinator, explained that the project allows orphans to participate in Eid's joy by choosing their own clothing, fostering independence and self-confidence. Mauritania saw 250 orphans receive clothing packages, including toys and dolls, with mothers expressing gratitude for the timely gesture.

In Pakistan's Kashmir region, 350 orphans received Eid clothing, while in Niger and Mali, 500 orphans were beneficiaries, thanks to the donors' support. QC's "Greatest Days" campaign for 1447 AH aims to provide Eid clothing to orphans in 21 countries, with a total project cost of approximately QR 2.5 million, benefitting around 8,200 children.

Within Qatar, QC's "Al-Aqraboon Center" runs the "Eidiyah" project, offering Eid essentials to 1,500 orphans and low-income families. QC continues to encourage donors to participate in the "Greatest Days" campaign and contribute to projects like Eid clothing through various donation channels during Dhul-Hijjah's blessed days.
