Qatar Celebrates Educational Achievements at 18th Education Excellence Day Award

Doha: HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater emphasized that Qatar has developed its educational system based on the wise vision of its prudent leadership. This development includes adopting a comprehensive strategy that provides an integrated educational infrastructure, with schools, institutes, and universities comparable to top global institutions.

According to Qatar News Agency, the strategy also focuses on preparing qualified educational and administrative cadres, implementing the latest educational curricula, ensuring equal opportunities, promoting comprehensive education, and advancing scientific research and innovation. In her speech at the ceremony honoring the 18th batch of the Education Excellence Day Award, Her Excellency explained that this batch witnessed the widest participation since the competition’s launch in 2006, with 80 winners out of 277 local applicants.

Al Khater emphasized the importance of discovering, refining, and nurturing talents to unlock the latent abilities of every citizen. This approach enables active contribution to sustainable development, enhancing the nation’s well-being, and elevating Qatar to the ranks of the most advanced countries. She highlighted that significant investment in the education sector has led to rapid progress, positively impacting the country’s economy and enabling its advancement to global leadership positions.

Her Excellency pointed out that the award honors the academic achievements of outstanding students, teachers, and academics, consolidating a culture of excellence and creativity. It motivates future generations to achieve educational excellence, reflecting Qatar’s firm commitment to building a knowledge-based society. She noted the importance of keeping pace with the latest educational systems and continuously developing national programs to meet the 21st century’s requirements.

At the ceremony, Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Thani, winner of the excellent university student category, expressed pride in HH the Amir’s recognition and extended gratitude for patronizing the ceremony. He highlighted the importance of minds as an inexhaustible wealth, emphasizing their responsibility to achieve the impossible. He hailed the award as a journey of challenge undertaken annually by outstanding and ambitious Qatari students who preserve their national identity and authentic culture.

The Education Excellence Day Award aims to deepen the concepts of excellence and creativity by adopting international standards and implementing quality programs. This edition honored 80 winners across the award’s nine categories, celebrating the integration of individual and institutional efforts to improve educational outcomes in Qatar.
