Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan. During the meeting, the Cabinet strongly condemned the recent attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran on Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait, viewing them as violations of sovereignty and international law. Qatar expressed full solidarity with these nations and called for a halt to military actions and a return to dialogue.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet proceeded to review and approve a draft law on cloud computing, which aims to establish a legislative framework for digital data protection and enhance Qatar's position as a hub for data services. The draft law includes guidelines for data service providers, ensuring fair pricing and customer freedom, and encourages international cooperation in digital transformation.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law on competition regulation, intended to replace the 2006 law and align with international standards. This law aims to foster competition, prevent monopolistic practices, and enhance market efficiency, supporting Qatar's economic environment and aligning with the Third National Development Strategy.
Additionally, the Cabinet responded to a Shura Council proposal on enhancing parental care, deciding to implement family-support initiatives to improve work-life balance, nursery services, and family-educational institution partnerships. These steps aim to reinforce family stability and quality of life.
The Cabinet further approved several international cooperation drafts, including security arrangements for the FIFA World Cup 2030 with Spain and Germany, labor cooperation with North Macedonia, tourism collaboration with Serbia, and sports cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
In its concluding session, the Cabinet reviewed various reports, including those on national weapon prohibition efforts, tax authority achievements, and international ministerial participations, and made appropriate decisions based on these findings.
