Doha: The State of Qatar has welcomed the recent bans imposed by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Belgium on products originating from Israeli settlements. It views this measure as a vital step in supporting efforts to deter Israeli settlement policies that violate international resolutions, notably Security Council Resolution 2334, and infringe upon the rights of the Palestinian people.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that more countries would adopt similar measures. The ministry emphasized the importance of the international community fulfilling its legal and moral responsibilities to compel Israel to cease its settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry reaffirmed Qatar's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and its people. This support is grounded in international resolutions and the two-state solution, which envisions the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
