Qatar and Egypt Hold Talks

Cairo, August 11 (QNA) – HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Morsi held at the presidential headquarters this evening bilateral talks.
 At the outset of the meeting, HH the Emir congratulated the Egyptian President on the confidence the people of Egypt had granted him and welcomed the formation of the new government, wishing Egypt further development and prosperity.
 HH the Emir also extended deep condolences to Dr. Morsi on the tragic incident of the Rafah border crossing.
 Talks during the meeting dealt with the prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries and means of promoting them in various fields besides the promising opportunities for investment in Egypt.
 The Qatari side expressed keenness to invest in a number of projects, noting that a business delegation will visit Egypt next September to study these opportunities.
 The State of Qatar would deposit USD 2 billion in the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
 The meeting was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani and members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Emir.
 On the Egyptian side, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister, Dr. Hisham Kandil and a number of ministers.  (QNA)
