Doha: The State of Qatar has emphasized that the opening of the Rafah land border crossing in southern Gaza for Palestinian movement marks a positive step towards resolving the critical situation faced by civilians, especially in the humanitarian and health sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Monday highlighting the importance of all parties adhering to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. The Ministry called for the opening of crossings to ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to the region.

The Ministry reaffirmed Qatar's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people, grounded in international law and the two-state solution. This position supports the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
