QARS Concludes Participation in International Amateur Radio Exhibition in Germany

Doha: – Qatar Amateur Radio Society (QARS) has concluded its participation in the International Radio Amateurs Exhibition “Friedrichshafen Exhibition” in Germany.

In a statement on Monday, QARS said that the QARS pavilion at the exhibition, which was held from June 20 to 30, witnessed a large turnout from various participants, as the Qatari participation was the only Arab participation so that visitors could learn about the specifications of the Qatari Es’hail satellite -2, which was launched in 2018 and carried an amateur radio transmitter, which is considered the first amateur transmitter on a satellite launched in fixed orbit in the world.

The presentation showcased by QARS during the exhibition about the amateur transmitter on the satellite also witnessed the largest viewership among other presentations presented by the amateur radio associations and clubs participating in the exhibition.

In this context, HE Chairman of the QARS Board of Directors, Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, expressed his pleasure
for the participation of the Qatar Amateur Radio Society (QARS) in the Friedrichshafen Exhibition after previous successful participation of the society, stressing that the participation of the QARS’ members in such international forums constitutes great importance for the Society at the level of the hobby and at the state level as a whole; The QARS holds its pavilion through which it introduces the countries of the world to the most important achievements made by the country during the past period, as well as the most important QARS’ achievements at the level of the hobby in the region and the world as a whole.

He added that the exhibition also constitutes an opportunity for Qatari amateurs to gain international experience and exchange information with international experts in this hobby, and another opportunity to learn about the most important advances in modern technology in the field of devices and equipment for the radio hobby.

It is worth noting that the Friedrichshafen Exhibition is held annually an
d is considered the largest of its kind in the world.

The largest number of radio amateurs from various countries of the world participate in it, as well as associations and clubs of radio amateurs in the world, and various manufacturers of radio hobby devices and equipment, along with several international and regional organizations and bodies concerned with the hobby.

The exhibition features a forum in which wireless amateurs around the world participate.

All topics related to the wireless hobby and how to develop it are discussed in light of the rapid growth in the world of communications and information technology.

All modern and advanced devices and equipment related to the wireless hobby are also displayed during the exhibition. In addition; during the exhibition, several international tests were held for those seeking licenses to practice the radio hobby, and gifts and certificates of appreciation were distributed to international amateurs who have supported the radio hobby for long periods.
