Prisoners Authority: The war of starvation and isolation against female prisoners continues

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority said that the Israeli prison administration continues its policy of abuse and punishment imposed on female detainees in the occupation prisons.

The Commission explained in a press statement, today, Sunday, that the severity of this policy has doubled since October 7, 2023, as the detainees were completely isolated from the outside world, stripped of their most basic rights, and subjected to hunger and deprivation of treatment, in addition to the repression they are subjected to during detention, psychological warfare and harassment during strip searches, in addition to the ongoing threats to their families.

The Commission’s lawyer confirmed, after her recent visit to Damoun Prison, that the prison administration has tightened its grip on female detainees. The room, which can accommodate five detainees, contains 10 detainees, in light of the very high temperatures and the withdrawal of fans, and the jailers also deliberately close the small window opening on t
he doors of the departments. To prevent air from entering.

The number of female detainees in the occupation prisons is 78, including 71 in Damoun Prison, 3 from the Gaza Strip (Asmaa Shatat, Siham Abu Salem and her daughter Suzanne), and 2 pregnant detainees (Jihad Nakhla and Aisha Ghaidan), and 7 female detainees are still under investigation
