Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has asserted that the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism is a milestone in the long march of Bahraini press, as it has become a catalyst for motivating media personnel, highlighting the creativity of Bahraini journalists in exercising the freedom of opinion and expression, as well as consolidating the values and principles of democracy and press freedom, which are flourishing during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Al-Saleh expressed his pride in the major strides made y the press in the kingdom, under HM the King’s Reform Project, highlighting the remarkable progress made by Bahraini media and press outlets.
The Shura Chairman commended the constant interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting the vital and important roles played by the national press, citing HRH’s keenness to involve them in government achievements and paving the way for them to contribute to enhancing the development process.
In this regard, he valued highly HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s patronage of the seventh edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism 2023, and honouring of the its laureates.
He congratulated the winners of this year’s edition of award, praising their valuable works.
Al-Saleh commended the tremendous efforts exerted by local newspapers, journalists and media personnel, praising their patriotism and keenness to perform their noble journalistic duties responsibly and professionally.
He also paid tribute to the Ministry of Information for its role in extending bridges of cooperation and coordination with all media institutions, as well as its keenness to motivate and encourage media and press competencies.
