Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met Monday with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the sisterly Arab Republic of Syria, Asaad Al Shaibani, who is on a visit to Qatar. Discussions during the meeting dealt with cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them. The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Syria, in addition to several topics of common interest.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s position in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and independence, as well as its commitment to the aspirations of the Syrian people for a dignified life and the establishment of a state based on institutions and the rule of law. His Excellency also affirmed Qatar’s support for efforts aimed at reconstruction, development, and stability in Syria.
