Prime Minister and Iranian Vice-President Discuss Regional Developments in Davos

Davos: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with HE Vice-President for Strategic Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2025 meetings in Davos, Switzerland. During this meeting, the two leaders discussed the cooperation relations between their respective countries and explored ways to support and further develop these ties. They also examined the current developments in the region, with a particular focus on the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, along with other topics of mutual interest.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Vice-President for Strategic Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his appreciation for the State of Qatar’s role and its significant efforts that contributed to the establishment of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. He also acknowledged Qatar’s involvement in the exchange of prisoners and detainees, which has been a crucial step towards stabilizing the situation in the region.
