President of Republic of Korea Meets Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs

HE President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-yeol met Thursday HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

During the meeting, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to HE the President of the Republic of Korea, and His Highness’s wishes of good health and happiness, and to the government and people of the Republic of Korea continued progress and prosperity.

For his part, HE President of the Republic of Korea entrusted HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs with his greetings to HH the Amir, wishing His Highness good health and happiness, and the State of Qatar continued progress, development and prosperity.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral cooperation, ways to support and develop them in various fields and the State of Qatar’s preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

HE the Korean President expressed his country’s aspiration to strengthen relations with the State of Qatar, especially in the fields of energy, technology and food security.

HE the President said that the agreement signed by the two sides on Wednesday, regarding mutual exemption of visa requirements for citizens of the two countries, would strengthen relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea.

HE praised the efforts of the State of Qatar in mediating between the United States and the Afghan Taliban, and Doha’s hosting of the indirect round of talks between the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
