Preparations for World Marathon At Lusail International Circuit Finalized

Doha: The Qatar Sports for All Federation has announced the completion of preparations for the launch of the “One Run for All” World Marathon, which will be held at 7:30 pm next Sunday at the Lusail International Circuit, in collaboration with the Qatar Athletics Federation and the Russian Embassy in the country. 1,500 male and female participants of all ages and categories will take part in the race.

This came in a press conference held Wednesday at the Lusail Sports Hall in the presence of the Race Organizing Committee.

The race features four distances divided between 1 km, 5 km, 10 km and 21 km, and it provides a wonderful opportunity for participants to spend an enjoyable sporting evening among family and friends who love running sports.

Abdullah Al Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports for All Federation, revealed the selection of 10 ambassadors, from practitioners and fans of running in Qatar, in order to encourage society to practice sports and increase the number of those pract
icing it.

Among the ambassadors of the global event are the champions of the Samla race, Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi and Faisal Al-Qahtani, in addition to Ali Saleh Al Hajri and Abdullah Al Thani, and the runner in international marathons, Ahmed Al Kuwari, who is considered one of the distinguished seniors in practicing running in Qatar, in addition to his success in Completing 6 international marathons.

He stressed that holding the race, which is being held for the first time in the State of Qatar, organized and sponsored by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, through the Qatar Sports for All Federation, comes as an embodiment of the belief in the importance of community sports, and taking advantage of the capabilities available to federations and clubs, including sports facilities, as well as the involvement of the society’s members, in events of an international nature, and organizing some distinguished sporting events in Qatar, noting that registration to participate will close on Saturday.
