Premium Product & Qatar Farms sales reach 485 tons in November

The total sales of local vegetables through “Premium Product” and “Qatar Farms” programs during November 2021 about 485 tons. 376 tons were marketed through “Premium Product” Program and 109 tons through “Qatar Farms” Program.

Premium products as well as those of Qatar Farms products of local vegetables are available, all year around, in major hypermarkets such as Lulu, Carrefour, Al Meera, Family Food Center and others. MME, represented by the Agricultural Affairs Department, oversees the local products marketing programs, collaborating with MOCI. The Ministry has also adopted Premium Product and Qatar Farms programs for the marketing of Qatari vegetables in consumer complexes in order to allow Qatari farmers to offer their local produce of Qatari first-class vegetables at high quality and affordable prices to consumers without any intermediation, and without the farmer paying any financial commissions.

Local product marketing programs reportedly aim at improving the local marketing methods of Qatari vegetables, increasing the demand for locally produced vegetables within the State, minimizing the loss of produce, and increasing the income of Qatari farmers to encourage increased investment in agriculture.
