Polling stations close in Kuwait, vote counting underway

Polling stations in the 2923 National Assembly elections (2023) for the 17th legislative term have closed in the State of Kuwait

The vote counting process will now start prior to announcing the official results and naming the winners for membership in the parliament for the next four years.

Polling stations opened for 12 hours, from 8 am in five constituencies, according to the single electoral vote system, to choose 50 members of the National Assembly from among 207 male and female candidates, said Kuwait News Agency.
