Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reiterated the government’s keenness to overcome all challenges facing Italian companies interested in investing in Egypt, and to take advantage of the promising opportunities and incentives provided to investors, especially in the targeted sectors prioritized by the government to attract foreign direct investments.
During his meeting on Sunday with Italian Ambassador to Egypt Michele Quaroni , Madbouli affirmed Egypt’s pride in the depth of the historical relations with Italy and the keenness to enhance them to support the common interests between the two countries. He expected a visit by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to Cairo at the earliest opportunity.
On his part, the Italian Ambassador in Cairo expressed his country’s anticipation for the visit of their Prime Minister to Egypt, in the context of building on areas of common cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially agriculture and food security sectors, in addition to monitoring the impl
ementation of agreements signed between the two sides in priority sectors for both countries.
The Italian diplomat also praised Egypt’s diligent efforts to attract foreign direct investments, including the recent success in concluding a deal for the development and enhancement of “Ras El Hekma” city, which represents a positive initiative to overcome the current economic challenges and to continue the economic development plans in Egypt.
During the meeting, progress in implementing cooperation proposals in the agriculture sector was reviewed, as well as ways to support food security in Egypt, in addition to discussing opportunities for cooperation to increase Egyptian exports of agricultural products.
