Palestinian Prime Minister Calls for Ramping Up Pressure on Israel to Enforce UN Resolutions, Lift Siege on Gaza

Oslo: Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa, has called on the international community to step up pressure on the Israeli occupation through enforcing effective and concrete measures for a comprehensive ceasefire and lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, he also called for implementing the United Nations resolution, including resolution 2334 (2016) and resolution 2735 (2024), to pave the way for ending the illegal occupation and achieving the two-state solution. Addressing the third meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in Oslo, Norway, to support the two-state solution and embody the Palestinian statehood, Mustafa stressed that any attempt to entrench the separation between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, or create transitional entities, should be unequivocally rejected.

He called for repudiating all laws enacted by Israel against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), stressing that this will destroy the rights of the Palestinian people and the two-state solution principle, in addition to shattering any hope for achieving peace. There must be a decisive and serious action backed with global solidarity to make tangible progress toward deepening the state-solution and confronting the violations being committed by Israel, in addition to enforcing accountability and laying the foundation for the two-state solution and ending the unlawful Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, added Mustafa.

The third meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Oslo brings together over 80 countries and international organizations and intends to explore avenues for strengthening the humanitarian support for the Palestinians in the wake of the tragic situation in Gaza. It also aims to revive the path toward the negotiations and boost UNRWA which plays a pivotal role in providing the Palestinian refugees with fundamental services.
