Palestinian Presidency Welcomes ICJ’s Decision Rejecting Settlement Policies of Israeli Occupation

The Palestinian Presidency has welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) rejecting the Israeli occupation’s settlement policies and its exploitation of natural resources in the occupied territories and considering it a violation of international law, stressing that it is a victory for justice.

The Presidency stressed, in a statement, the need for the Israeli entity to stop its occupation and end its presence in the Palestinian territories, stop practicing any settlement activity, evacuate the settlements, and compensate for the material and moral losses of people in the occupied territories, calling on the international community to oblige it to end its occupation and colonial project completely, immediately, and without restriction or condition. .

It considered the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and their right to their land and state, a rejection of the occupation and the recent “Knesset
” decision, pointing out that this decision comes at a time when the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank are being exposed to comprehensive aggression and genocide, which renews The Palestinians have hope for a future free of colonialism on the path to achieving their absolute and non-negotiable right to self-determination and liberation.

It also reiterated the need to end the policy of impunity that allowed the Israeli occupation to deny the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination for more than 76 years, entrench the policies of apartheid and persecution, and commit the crime of genocide that is now unfolding before the world in Gaza and throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.
