According to Qatar News Agency, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, stressed in a statement that the settlement tenders in the rejected and condemned E1 area, along with the escalating settler actions and daily incidents, are pushing the situation toward an uncontrollable state. He asserted that these Israeli policies toward the Palestinian people are putting the region on the brink of a dangerous situation.
He emphasized that lasting peace or stability cannot be achieved without Jerusalem and the complete end of the Israeli occupation, noting that the failure to recognize international law will keep the region in a cycle of wars and conflicts.
Abu Rudeineh pointed out that any projects or plans lacking a genuine political vision will not achieve security or peace for anyone. He explained that the international community must work diligently to defuse ongoing crises and take serious steps to compel the occupying authorities to cease their actions, respect international law, and fully implement international resolutions.
The E1 project is an Israeli settlement plan between the settlements of Ma'ale Adumim and Pisgat Ze'ev in Area C, under Israeli control. It covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometers between several towns and aims to link the settlement to Jerusalem, isolating the city from its surroundings and dividing the West Bank into two parts, thus eliminating the possibility of establishing a contiguous Palestinian state.
